If for some reason, an employee is entered with incorrect information, sometimes it is necessary to change a few things on the Employee page. However, some changes will likely change an employee’s eligibility. Our system has several stopgap measures that have been implemented to identify whether a change to employee information will change their ability to enroll in specific benefit plans, according to the rules of those plans.
When profile changes are made manually to the employment effective date, hire date, date of birth, or legal gender, several checks are made.
- The system will check to see whether an individual is enrolled in a plan for which they are no longer eligible.
- The system will check to see whether any new enrollment windows have been opened for which this employee is eligible.
