Take a manual imprint of the card, for protection against disputes, according to your store policies.
- Call the Amex voice authorization service at 1-800-528-2121. Follow the prompts to enter the transaction information. If the system recognizes your phone number, you are not prompted to enter your Amex Service Establishment (SE) number.
- If the transaction is approved, write down the 6-digit approval.
- Use your point-of-sale device or application to enter the transaction as an offline sale. Again, follow the prompts to enter the transaction information, which includes the approval from the phone call.
